Personal Router Setup
Set up the router by powering it and connecting it to the red or blue Ethernet wall jack. Plug the Ethernet cable into the designated Internet or LAN port on the router.

Configure the router. The instructions vary by router, but they’re usually in the box or on the manufacturer’s website. If the router requires a laptop connection, connect it via Ethernet. If you computer lacks an Ethernet port, buy an Ethernet to USB adapter.
Connect to the router’s setup page, usually listed on the bottom. Common URLs for Linksys, Netgear, and TP-Link are:
- Linksys: 192.168.1.1
- Netgear: routerlogin.net
- TP-Link: 192.168.0.1
Log in with the provided credentials and configure your router.
After configuring your device, you’ll be redirected to a CAS login screen. If not, navigate to http://latech.edu (without the ‘s’) and log in with your CAS credentials.
I can’t log into my router using the credentials on it
To fix this issue, you can reset the router. On the back, or sometimes bottom of the router, you should see the word “Reset” and a button next to it. You may need a pen or paperclip to access the button. Hold this button down for 30 seconds while the router is on to reset it. The credentials should work now when you try to log into the router.
