Google GSuite

Overview

All enrolled Louisiana Tech students have access to Google GSuite. This is a culmination of Google’s applications. These applications include Google Drive, Docs, Slides, Gmail, and others. Below is a brief description of each application.

• Google Drive – The storage space for all documents, presentations, and spreadsheets that are created by a user. Each student has 500 GB of space to use with their Louisiana Tech account.
• Gmail – This is the student’s central hub for email. This is the ONLY way that a student is able to access their email. Email is the primary form of communication between students, professors, and faculty at Louisiana Tech.
• Google Docs – This application is used to create and share documents that can be utilized for a variety of purposes. Writing papers, creating resumes, and other important tasks can be completed by using Google Docs.
• Google Sheets – Sheets is a spreadsheet application similar to Microsoft’s Excel. This can be used to perform mathematical calculations, manage budgets, and create charts and graphs.
• Google Slides – Slides is an application that aids in creating slideshows. This is often used for projects and presentations.

How to Log In to Workspace

1. Go to CAS.
2. Sign in with the correct username and password for the LaTech CAS system.
3. Confirm with Duo Mobile.
4. Navigate to the three lines in the top left corner and select “Google Workspace”.

How to Log In to Applications

1. Look up application on a browser (e.g. Google Docs, Google Drive).
2. Sign into Google Account with your LaTech email address in the format of “abc123@email.latech.edu”.
3. Sign into the LaTech CAS system.
