Obtaining a CWID or Campus PIN

Faculty/Staff

Due to privacy regulations, the University Help Desk cannot provide your Campus-Wide ID (CWID) or Campus PIN over the phone. If you need this information, please use one of the following methods:

For New Faculty/Staff

  • If you have not received your credentials (CWID and Campus PIN), please get in touch with your direct supervisor.
    • These credentials are typically sent to your supervisor when your hiring process is finalized.
    • How to set a password.

If You Need Your Credentials Re-Sent

  • Visit the University Help Desk in person:
    • Location: Wyly Tower, Room 155
    • What to Bring: A valid photo ID (Tech ID, driver’s license, or passport)
  • A Help Desk representative will:
    • Verify your identity
    • Assist in retrieving your credentials form the system administrators
    • Or submit a request ticket on your behalf, if necessary

Students

Due to privacy regulations, the University Help Desk cannot provide your Campus-Wide ID (CWID) or Campus PIN over the phone. You can retrieve your credentials using the following options:

For New Students

  1. Claim your account online
    • If you have not received your credentials through the admissions process:
    • Visit the password website to claim your account.
    • Your CWID and PIN will be emailed to the email address you used when applying to Louisiana Tech.

  2. Check your Tech ID Card
    • Your CWID is printed on your Tech ID card.
  3. Contact or Visit the Help Desk
    • Call the Help Desk at 318.257.5300 to request assistance and have a support ticket created.
    • Visit in person:
      • University Help Desk
      • Wyly Tower, Room 155

If You Need Your Credentials Re-Sent
