There may be an instance were the Mediasite Desktop Recorder(MDR) does not shut down properly.
You can open MDR and go to Settings. The folder where your video files are stored will be shown. Then you have to browse to that folder and see what’s in there. If the mp4 files are undamaged then you can try to recover the content using 2 different methods.
- Use FFmpeg or some other video processing tools to assemble the files into something that can be published. The exact commands to use depend on what was captured. After the file is created you will upload the mp4 video using the My Mediasite portal or with the Management Portal.
- You can record a dummy MDR recording of the same type, then copy the contents of the broken folder into the folder of the dummy recording. Please exit out of the MDR before doing the copying. Then publish this to the server in MDR. Directions for this is in the online help for MDR (the ? icon). See Manage Recordings ; Upload to existing presentation chapter.
