How to connect to the VPN

Connect to VPN on Windows

To connect to the VPN, please do the following:

  1. Go to techvpn.latech.edu.
  2. Sign in using your Louisiana Tech credentials. This will be what you would use to log into Moodle or your email.
  3. Click the appropriate download for your machine. This will generally be the Windows 64 bit shown below.

  1. Run the program, and click “Next” until it installs.
  2. Once its installed, a GlobalProtect Box will open up in the bottom right corner of your screen.
  1. In the Portal Address, enter techvpn.latech.edu, and click connect.
  2. Next, you be asked to enter your username and password. This will be your Tech username and password, such as your Moodle or email, to log in.
  3. Click “Sign in”. Wait a few seconds and you should be connected.

Note: If the Pop Up Box disappears, you can click the up arrow on your taskbar and look for the Globe Icon. Click the Globe Icon and the Pop Box will appear again. Also if the icon is greyed out, it means that you are not connected to the VPN.

Connect to VPN on a Mac

  1. Go to techvpn.latech.edu.
  2. Sign in using your Tech Credentials. This will be what you would use to log into Moodle or your email.
  3. Click the appropriate download for your machine. This would be the Mac 32/64 bit option.
  4. Run the program and click “Next” until the program installs.
  5. In your taskbar, go to System Preferences.
  6. Go to Security and Privacy.
  7. Click the General Tab.
  8. Then click “Allow Palo Alto Security Network” access.
  9. At the top, click on the Global Protect Icon (The global that is shown in the top)
  10. In the Portal Address, type techvpn.latech.edu.
  11. Next, you will be asked to enter your username and password. This will be your Tech username and password, such as your Moodle or email, to log in.
  12. Click “Sign in”, and you should be connected.
