Setup Outlook 2013 Print E-mail
NOTE: THESE INSTRUCTIONS CORRESPOND TO MICROSOFT OUTLOOK 2013. 
To setup your email account in Microsoft Outlook, please perform the following steps:
      
    1.)   Open Microsoft Outlook 2013
  • If this is the first time you have used Outlook, a wizard will automatically begin. Skip to STEP 3.
  • If Outlook has been used on your computer before, go to File > Info > Account Settings

2.)   In the Account Settings window, click New...

 
  

3.)   In the next window, ensure Manually setup or additional server types is selected.

4.)   Choose POP or IMAP.

5.)   Under User Information enter your name and email address
       Next, select Account Type, IMAP is the preferred choice.
       Under Server Information enter the following:
  • Incoming mail server: mail.latech.edu
  • Outgoing mail server: smtp.latech.edu
      Under Logon Information enter your username and password

6.)   Click More Settings...
       Click on the Outgoing Server tab, click the checkbox for my outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Select Use the same settings as my incoming mail server.

7.)   Click on the Advanced tab
       Ensure your server settings are as follows:
  • INCOMING SERVER SETTINGS: Enable SSL and change the port number to 993 (IMAP).
  • OUTGOING SERVER SETTINGS: Enable SSL and change the port number to 465.
  • Type the word inbox into the Root folder path. ***This step is crucial. Outlook will not work properly without this.***

Then, Click OK. 

8.)   Click Next > and it will test  the account settings.
