Iím having problems viewing a Mediasite presentation, what should I try first? Print E-mail

Mediasite is  a simple to use, web-based, lecture capture solution.  Follow these simple tips to try and solve any issues that you might have viewing presentations

First, use the Mediasite Playback Checklist page to see if your computer meets the viewing requirements.

Second, test your audio and video connections by clicking on this link.  Also some trouble shooting tips can be found on this page as well.  Because Mediasite is web-based, difficulties with your web browser can lead to difficulties with playback.  If you encounter issues with playback, see the links below:

·         A larger number of quirks and issues can be tied to browser cache. To clear your browser’s cache, head to http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser’s-Cache for instructions.

·         If you’re using Internet Explorer, you may also need to add the Mediasite server to your “Trusted sites” list: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Security-zones-adding-or-removing-websites. NOTE: For step 4, use the “Trusted sites” link.

·         If you are using a pop-up blocker or popup manager, you will need to grant access to the page or temporarily disable popup blocking before you attempt to view Mediasite presentations.

·         If the viewer opens, but does not begin to play, open Window Media Player from your Start Menu. In the player, click on “Tools” then “Options.” Make sure the option “Connect to the Internet” is checked under the Player tab.
