LaTech Addressbook in Outlook 2007 / 2010 Print E-mail
These instructions are how to set up Outlook 2007 and 2010 to pull contact information from the Tech LDAP. Keep in mind that because the address book is large, it is only available to search, not browse.

Outlook 2007 

  1. Click Tools > Account Settings, and click the Address Books tab.
  2. Then click New and select Internet Directory Service (LDAP), then click Next.
  3. Type directory.latech.edu under Server Name.
  4. Under Logon Information, This server requires me to log on should not be checked.
  5. Click More Settings.
  6. In the dialog box that pops up, select OK.
  7. Under the Connection tab type Latech as the Display Name and the port will be 389.
  8. On the Search tab, the Search Base should be set to Custom and is ou=People,dc=latech,dc=edu
  9. Click OK, then Next, then Finished.
  10. Close the other dialog box, and restart Outlook. Once this is done the address book should be available to search.

Outlook 2010

  1. Under the File tab, ensure the Info submenu is highlighted.
  2. Click the Account Settings box, and click Account Settings.
  3. Click the Address Books tab.
  4. Click New.
  5. Ensure Internet Directory Service (LDAP) is selected, and click Next.
  6. Type directory.latech.edu under Server Name.
  7. Under Logon Information, This server requires me to log on should not be checked.
  8. Click More Settings.
  9. In the dialog box that pops up, select OK.
  10. Under the Connection tab type Latech as the Display Name and the port will be 389.
  11. On the Search tab, the Search Base should be set to Custom and is ou=People,dc=latech,dc=edu
  12. Click OK, then Next, then Finished.
  13. Close the other dialog box, and restart Outlook. Once this is done the address book should be available to search.
